Biography
Crane Zhu is an innovative expanded media and XR artist whose work bridges the realms of technology, nature, and human cognition. Originally from Hubei, China, and now based in California, she draws from diverse disciplines such as science, philosophy, architecture, and biology to explore new cognitive possibilities through her art. Her practice delves into the intricate relationships between technology and nature, manifesting through various media including expanded media, video, installations, interactive media, performance, printmaking, and photography.
Crane holds dual BFA degrees from California State University San Marcos and Anhui University, and an MFA from Alfred University, where she refined her interdisciplinary approach to creating art that challenges and expands practice.
