Advanced Print Media

2020 Fall, 2021 Spring | 4.000 Credit hours

An extensive investigation into the traditional and non-traditional uses of materials and processes grows out of the concepts inherent in kinetic, photographic, and electronic printmaking processes. The focus is on issues involving specific forms of print media (book, print-suite, single print, mass production, print installation). Time and instruction help deepen students' experience in one or more printmaking processes, including etching, lithography, laser woodcut, dye-sublimation, heat press, and digital inkjet technologies.

As a teaching assistant, I instructed senior undergrad students to use Adobe Photoshop for images. And I operated the laser cut machine, heat press machine, and dye-sublimation printer for two continuous semesters. For the traditional printmaking part, I also prepared supplies such as tools, paper, and ink.
